Bali Airport Facilities Were Disinfected
To anticipate the entry of the spread of the deadly virus to Bali, PT Angkasa Pura I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport - Bali held disinfection of terminal buildings and airport facilities that are often in direct contact with airport service users, on Tuesday (3/3) night.
By involving the Denpasar Class I Port Health Office (KKP), several officers have been mobilized to disinfect the terminal facilities. General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, Herry A.Y. Sikado explained that his party and all airport community agencies had implemented stringent efforts in mitigating the potential spread of the Coronavirus at the airport.
"We have deployed five personnel. We did this after President Joko Widodo officially announced that two Depok residents were positively exposed by the Coronavirus. This disinfection does not affect the level of service to airport service users, "said Herry.
This action, he said, was preventive. Whether or not the residents are exposed, they continue to carry out a disinfection process to clean the facilities at the terminal.
Further, he said, the process of disinfection was carried out on the passenger baggage tray or container on the baggage scanning machine, Screening Check Point (SCP), check-in counter table, luggage trolley, escalator handle, elevator or lift button, passenger bench and seat in the boarding lounge and boarding gates, flush buttons on toilets, switches and sink faucets, luggage handling facilities, children's play areas, internet facilities at the corner of the musholla room, drinking water taps, and trash bins.
"Airport service users very often touch these facilities with hands. For this reason, we clean it to reduce the risk and potential transmission of Corona Virus through airports, "said Herry.
