The Botanical Garden Closure
Following some tourist destinations which had already temporarily closed operations, Eka Karya Botanic Garden in Tabanan also closed on Thursday (3/19). The closing of the botanical garden which is managed by the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) will be carried out until Tuesday (31/3).
Confirmed related to this closure, Eka Karya Bali Botanic Garden Manager, Teguh Dwiyanto confirmed. He said the temporary closure was to support government programs in anticipating the spread of the Coronavirus.
During the closure of the area for public the botanical specialists, cleaning and security workers will keep working. All of them will be provided with health checks.
"Every morning spraying disinfectants starting from the area of office buildings, entrance gates, ticket counters, and visitor counters. Apart from that, we keep cleaning the Bali Botanic Garden, both grass and dried leaves", explained Teguh Dwiyanto.
Normal visits to the Bali Botanic Garden are between 500-600 visitors per day and at weekends 1,000-1,500 visitors, with a ratio of 80 percent domestic and 20 percent foreign tourists.
