Earthquake in Bali
The earthquake occurred to the south from Bali on Thursday (19/3), at 1.45 am.
From BMKG data, the epicenter was in the South Indian Ocean, Bali-Nusa Tenggara. It had an initial parameter with a magnitude of M = 6.6 which was then updated to Mw = 6.3.
The epicenter was located in the sea at a distance of 305 km south from Denpasar, Bali at a depth of 10 km.
The earthquake that occurred was a type of shallow earthquake due to subduction activity. The results of the analysis of the source mechanism show that the earthquake has a mechanism of downward movement (normal fault).
The earthquake was felt in Denpasar, Central Lombok, East Lombok, West Lombok, Mataram City, Kuta, West Sumbawa, Sumbawa, Bima, Lombok Utara.
Until now there has been no report of the impact of the damage caused by the earthquake. This earthquake had no tsunami potential.
