No Internet Leakage During Nyepi Day
The Denpasar Class II Radio Frequency Spectrum Monitoring Center (Balmon) was asked to overcome internet and broadcast leaks that occurred during Nyepi last year. The reason is, some areas in Bali people still use television and the internet during the Day of Silence. This was revealed in a coordination meeting related to the implementation of seclusion on Monday (3/16).
Balmon plans to conduct surveillance in the north, west, and east of Bali. Last year the broadcast leakage occurred in Karangasem from the direction Mataram city and Jembrana from Banyuwangi.
Cutting broadcasting activities related to Nyepi implementation began three years ago.
As for cellular data and its providers, a month ago there was a meeting at the Ministry of Communication and Information.
All Telecommunications Providers who provide internet and IPTV access services in the Province of Bali were asked to support the Nyepi Day or the Day of Silence which takes place on March 25, 2020, at 06:00 WITA to March 26, 2020, at 06.00 WITA. They were requested not to broadcast and not to activate the internet.
However, internet access services will still be carried out on vital objects such as hospitals, airports, military headquarters, the National Police, BMKG (Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency), BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency), and several other places, said Head of the Office of Communication and Information of the Province of Bali, I Gede Pramana.
The public and telecommunications providers are recommended to take steps to avoid and / or ward off hoaxes and negative content.
